Have you tried a nicotine patch or nicotine gum? I have some friends that has worked for. Also my brother has a little electronic cigarette thing that you actually put in your mouth and suck on like you’re smoking, but instead of actual smoke, you’re inhaling some nicotine to curb your cravings and some flavoring (you can buy cartridges for it in all these little flavors like Jolly Ranchers). It cost him about $100 and I think he said the brand name was Enjoy. Look for it!
Chew the gum or buy popeye sticks and pretend you are smoking.
If you’ve quit once, it’s easy to quit again–honestly. If they are REAL friends, let them know you’re quitting so you can’t bum a cigarette off them. No matter how bad the temptation, don’t buy a pack.
I quit cold turkey two months ago. It was my second time quitting–I still have cravings and temptation when around my smoker friends a coworkers, so usually I find something to occupy my hands and mouth while I’m around them. Chewing gum and playing around with my bracelet seems to be the top avoidance activity.
Quit again! Chantix works well. Also try a hypnotist!!!
Then after you quit take a good long look at how stupid people look when they inhale and exhale. It really is funny.

Judy, you can do it. You have done it last time and lasted for two long years. Make your strong quit WILL and hang in tough with it. I am quitting cold turkey for two months and some of my good friends, who I hang out with, are smoking too. You CAN do it.

This is a big deal and I relate to it. When I quit , I had the same problem, friends and family who still smoked and wanted to keep me smoking, too. I weaned myself away from them, including my family members, I would not be around them while they smoked, if it is bad for me then…..it is bad for them. My health and was more important, my success depended on avoiding triggers. Alcohol was a huge stumbling block, one drink and I was likely to fire up a smoke and ” quit later”, so I quit the alcohol, too. 20 years later, I can have a glass of wine and not even worry about smoking ever again, but I am over the hard part. I wish you luck .
While smoking you feel that your closest one (i.e. your younger brother/sister, son/daughter or wife) is following you and you cant stop them because you are also doing the same. Be confident in your self and certainly you will be succeeded.
