it’s gonna be hard when you live with smokers esp. if they aren’t interested in quiting themselves. Try asking them to not smoke in the house. Tell them you really want to kick the habbit and you need their help. If they can’t even do that for you then thats pretty sh*tty.

You have to WANT it that bad. Don’t take any medicine for it. . .You could try the gum or the patch but all in all its mind over matter. If your mind doesn’t want it then it doesn’t matter. . .

It may be very hard with everyone else in the house smoking.

How does one quit anything…? One day at a time. Sometimes one moment at a time, or one minute at a time…

First off, think of what you will do to ‘replace’ the smoking habit with something else. Walking (yourself or the dog) when you get the urge to smoke will get you away from the smokers in your home and get you some fresh air and exercise. It will help take your mind off of your ‘old habit’.

Whenever you try to ‘quit’ anything, you must replace that activity with another, or it just won’t work.

Go to the library or somewhere else people don’t usually smoke. Take a class in something you like to do. Swim, bike, hike, etc…

What do other non-smokers you know do when everyone else heads outside for a ’smoke break’?

It usually takes 21 days (three weeks) to replace a bad habit with a good habit, so give yourself plenty of time to make the switch. Be gentle with yourself.

Check out ‘addictions’ in Google. There will be tons of help.

    …and Good Luck!

Why don’t you want to use medicine? It increases your success rate and it makes the process less unpleasant.

You can move from that house if you want to but, you might want to check this website before you decide to do that.
